Privacy policy

We collect as little as we can get away with.

This is the privacy policy for Fruitloop (fruitloop.io). It explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this page short and readable.

Information we collect

Fruitloop is a static content site. We do not require you to create an account or log in to read posts. The data we collect falls into two buckets:

  • Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard request information — IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request. This is used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. Logs are retained for a short period.
  • Cookie-free analytics (Vercel). We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages are read and how the site performs. Neither sets cookies and neither tracks you across sites.

What we don't collect

  • We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
  • We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
  • We don't fingerprint your browser.
  • We don't show personalised ads.

Cookies

Fruitloop itself does not set any tracking cookies. When you click an outbound link to Amazon, Amazon will set its own cookies on its own domain — that's how the Amazon Associates program tracks the commission we earn. Those cookies are governed by Amazon's privacy policy, not ours.

Affiliate links

Most outbound product links on Fruitloop are Amazon affiliate links. When you click one, Amazon receives a tracking parameter that identifies us as the referrer. Amazon may then pay us a commission on qualifying purchases. See our affiliate disclosure for full details.

Email

If you email us via the contact page, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information only to reply to you.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed in our database (hosted on Neon). We use that address only to send you the Fruitloop newsletter, sent via Resend. We don't share it with any other third party.

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link that immediately removes you from the list. You can also email us via the contact page to be removed at any time. We retain a record that an email address has unsubscribed so we don't accidentally re-add it later.

Children

Fruitloop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain kinds of processing. If you are in the EU, you have equivalent rights under the EU GDPR; in California, similar rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email us via the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if anything material about our data practices changes. The date at the bottom of the page reflects the most recent revision.
